ILOILO City – In 251 operations, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested 278 wanted persons in Western Visayas between April 19 and 25.
In the campaign against illegal drugs, on the other hand, 57 operations resulted to the arrest of 22 suspects, confiscation of 521.762 grams of shabu and 40.5 grams of marijuana. The confiscations had a combined value of P3,529,566.76.
As for illegal gambling, 214 suspects were caught in 60 operations.
In the drive against loose firearms, 21 operations resulted to the arrest of 22 individuals and the confiscation of 27 firearms.
A total of 133 firearms and 18 explosives were also surrendered.
The Negros Occidental police had the most number of operations conducted to include the campaign against illegal drugs with 27 operations and 29 arrests; campaign against loose firearms with seven operations and six arrests; and against illegal gambling with 26 operations and 89 arrests.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office had the most number of wanted persons accounted for – 104. It also reported the highest number of surrendered firearms and explosives – 60.
