ILOILO – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested 358 violators in its campaign against illegal gambling in June this year.
Some P159,000 bet money was also confiscated from a total of 126 operations across the region.
The top two offices with the highest number of arrests include the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO) with 230 and Bacolod City Police Office with 102.
The remaining number of arrests were from Iloilo PPO (25), Aklan PPO and Antique PPO (14 each), Capiz PPO (13), and Guimaras PPO (six).
“These arrests show that our efforts do not only focus on the illegal drugs and wanted persons. All forms of illegal activities are strictly watched and if evidence warrants, those involved will be subjected to law enforcement operations,” said Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the director of the PRO-6./PN
