ILOILO – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) seized nearly P5 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 86 suspects across Western Visayas in a week of “Birada Semana” operations (July 10 to 16).
Sixty-five operations resulted to the seizure of 721.841 grams of shabu valued at P4,908,518.80.
The breakdown of operations and suspects arrested:
* Negros Occidental – 27 operations and 32 arrested individuals
* Iloilo Province – 14 operations and 18 arrested individuals
* Iloilo City – nine operations and 19 arrested persons
* Bacolod City – eight operations and nine arrested persons
* Capiz – five operations and six arrested persons
* Antique and Guimaras – one operation and one arrested person each.
In the campaign against wanted persons, 220 fugitives were arrested, 45 of whom belonged to the “top 10 most wanted persons” in their areas, and 175 were wanted persons.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, 66 anti-illegal gambling operations were conducted, which resulted in the arrest of 182 individuals and the confiscation of more than P59,000 bet money.
