PRO-6 nets over 200 fugitives in weeklong ops

ILOILO City – In a week-long blitz of simultaneous operations dubbed “Birada Semana” from March 4 to 10, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has showcased significant strides in combating various criminal activities.

In a resolute crackdown on wanted persons, law enforcement carried out a total of 214 operations, resulting in the successful apprehension of 214 individuals with standing arrest warrants. Notably, among the captured suspects, 20 were identified as “most wanted persons.”

The intensified campaign against illegal drugs saw 78 operations carried out, leading to the arrest of 94 drug personalities. The operations yielded a substantial confiscation of more or less 2,835.16 grams of shabu, valued at P19,279,088, and around 70 grams of marijuana, with an estimated standard value of P8,400.

Efforts to scourge the proliferation of loose firearms resulted in 22 operations executed, with 23 individuals arrested. A total of 148 firearms and 23 explosives were either surrendered or recovered across various police units, contributing to enhanced public safety and security.

The crackdown on illegal gambling saw 47 operations conducted, leading to the apprehension of 185 individuals and the confiscation of P40,613 in bet money.
