ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) had seized P139-million worth of shabu in six months of anti-illegal drug operations across Western Visayas.
From January to June this year, the total value of shabu confiscated was 59.95 percent higher than the P56-million worth of shabu seized in 2021.
On the other hand, the number of drug suspects arrested in the first half of the year reached 986; this was 17.22 percent lower than the 1,191 suspects caught in the same period in 2021.
“Malaki ang nakuha na shabu this year kasi malaki ang volume na binebenta nila,” PRO-6 director, Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo.
“We congratulate our men for a job well done,” he added.
Despite the considerable value of shabu confiscated, Dongbo said the PRO-6 has not received reports about organized drug groups operating in Western Visayas.
Still, he ordered police chiefs to continue monitor drug personalities in their areas of responsibility.
“SIge-sige ang ating operations sa buong region and as much as possible high-value individuals ang ating huhulihin,” Dongbo added./PN
