ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) seized P23.7 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 104 suspects from December 9 to 15 across the region.
Data from the PRO-6 showed that of those arrested persons, 16 were tagged as high-value targets, 83 were street-level individuals and five were newly identified drug suspects.
Here is the breakdown of arrests per unit:
* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (PPO) – 42
* Iloilo City Police Office – 24
* Bacolod City Police Office – 20
* Iloilo PPO – 13
* Aklan PPO – two
* Antique PPO – two
* Capiz – one
The biggest confiscation in a single operation was in Barangay 2, Victorias City, Negros Occidental on December 10. Police apprehended three suspects and seized around 800 grams of shabu worth P5.4 million.
PRO-6 director Brigadier General Jack Wanky commended all units involved on their intensified efforts against illegal drugs.
“Your actions against this society’s menace is worthy of praise and emulation. Despite this feat, maintain the intensity of our effort. Likewise, strengthen your coordination and collaboration with the other law enforcement agencies and the community. Our collective endeavor is a strong force that will prevent and stop the proliferation of illegal substance and arrests of those persons involve,” Wanky added./PN
