ILOILO City – No election-related incidents (ERIs) have been reported in Western Visayas two weeks after the filing of certificates of candidacy for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang elections (BSKE).
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) spokesperson Major Mary Grace Borio said the region has been peaceful since Aug. 28.
“Pero padayun ang aton pag-monitor sa palibot. Madamo ang gin-deploy nga pulis para magpatuman sang kalinong,” Borio said.
She is appealing to all candidates and their supporters to avoid creating violence and instead observe sportsmanship.
The latest record of the Philippine National Police showed two validated election-related incidents of violence in Bicol and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
