ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has inaugurated its new five-storey Regional Forensic Unit 6 (RFU-6) building (formerly, regional police crime laboratory) worth P50 million inside Camp Delgado.

Construction started in May 2020 and completed just this January 2022.

Police Lieutenant General Bernabe Balba, the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) Area Police Commander – Visayas, graced the inauguration.

“I hope this building will become part of your legacy to this institution, through your continuing progress. Please serve our kababayans with emphasis on the three basic values; Malinis, Magalang at Mabilis,” Balba told policemen.

The PNP Forensic Group (PNPFG), formerly known as the PNP Crime Laboratory, provides scientific and technical investigative aide and support to the PNP and other investigative agencies.

The organization also provides crime laboratory examination, evaluation and identification of physical evidence gathered at the crime scene with primary emphasis on medical, biological and physical nature.

With the new facility, Balba hopes for a better police service in the region, particularly in solving crimes./PN
