ILOILO City – Brigadier General Jack Wanky, the director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6), has issued a directive to all police chiefs across Western Visayas to monitor and ensure their personnel report daily to their assigned posts. This move aims to enhance efficiency and dedication among the police force.

Wanky emphasized the importance of diligence and commitment among the officers.

“I don’t want lazy police. I want dedicated and hard-working men and women. Regular absences affect their daily tasks. We have to work for better services to the community,” he said.

The directive was in response to an order from the Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), General Rommel Francisco Marbil, which stressed the importance of daily attendance to maintain discipline and efficiency within the ranks.

This renewed focus on accountability followed the recent incident involving two Special Action Force (SAF) commandos, Police Corporal George Rojo Mabuti and Patrolman Roger Ramos Valdez.

These officers were arrested following a brawl in Ayala-Alabang Village, Muntinlupa City.

Although charged with alarm and scandal, the court has since ordered their release pending further investigation.

Corporal Mabuti is assigned to the 52nd Special Action Company in Zamboanga, while Patrolman Valdez serves with the 55th Special Action Company in the same region.

General Wanky also clarified his expectations for police directors at both city and provincial levels.

“My instructions to my men, especially the city and provincial directors, are clear: monitor their personnel to ensure they are present and performing their duties effectively,” he said.

Additionally, Wanky issued a stern warning against moonlighting, especially serving as private security for businessmen or politicians, which he described as degrading and unauthorized.

“We have plenty of responsibilities in our official capacities,” Wanky pointed out./PN
