PRO-6 personnel recognized for UN peacekeeping duties

ILOILO City – Five personnel from Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) were recognized for their service as members of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force.

The recognition was held on May 30 at Camp General Martin Teofilo Delgado here.

Recognized were Police Colonel Martin Defensor Jr., Colonel Pablito Asmod Jr., Colonel Rhea Santos, Colonel Lea Rose Peña, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Kim Legada.

They received certificates of recognition.

The recognition is part of the Police Regional Office 6’s observance of the 2022 Philippine Commemoration of the International Day of United Nations (UN) Peacekeepers.

The PRO-6 deputy regional director for operations, Defensor said the International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers is celebrated every May 29 to recognize the service and sacrifices of all peacekeepers since 1948 and to honor the more than 4,000 peacekeepers who lost their lives in pursuit for peace.

This year’s theme for the commemoration was “People Peace Progress: The Power of Partnerships.” (PIA-6/PRO-6/PN)
