ILOILO City – Over 300 personnel of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) underwent random drug testing at Camp Gen. Martin Teofilo B. Delgado yesterday, July 4.
Police Non-Commissioned Officers (PNCOs) and Police Commissioned Officers (PCOs) were called for a morning formation then ordered to submit themselves to a drug test.
Of the 335 PRO-6 personnel, 255 were PNCOs, 50 were non-uniformed personnel and 30 were PCOs.
“Gusto po nating lahat ng personnel ay malinis concerning illegal drugs. Paano naman po kami paniniwalaan ng publiko kung ang aming hanay ay may sangkot sa ganitong pamamaraan,” said Brigadier General Archival Macala, PRO-6’s deputy regional director for administration (DRDA).
Macala also warned those found positive for illegal drug use.
“Dismissal ang hatol sa nag-positive sa drug test,” he said.
The PRO-6 purchased 5,000 kits for the drug tests of organic personnel last month.
Meanwhile, Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor is now the full-fledged regional director of PRO-6 after more than a month of serving in an acting capacity.
Villaflor assumed as PRO-6 acting director on May 22, replacing Brigadier General Leo Francisco, who is now the chief of the Directorate for Operations in Camp Crame./PN
