ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has unveiled a comprehensive security plan to ensure peace and order during the festive Yuletide season.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, stressed the need for public safety amid the expected surge in holiday activities.

“The Yuletide season is the most awaited time of the year for everyone, especially Christians celebrating the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. With the anticipated influx of people in public areas, our Security Coverage Plan has been set early,” said Wanky.

Key measures under the plan include:

* Regionwide Deployment – Police personnel will be stationed across malls, markets, transport terminals, and other high-traffic areas.

* Maximized Police Presence – Officers will be visible in convergence points to deter crimes and respond swiftly to incidents.

* Proactive Operations – These include serving warrants of arrest, executing search warrants, and conducting checkpoints to address potential threats.

* Community Involvement – Auxiliary forces and community members will be mobilized to support peacekeeping efforts.

Wanky said all unit commanders have been briefed and tasked to implement the plan effectively.

Residents and visitors are urged to cooperate with authorities and stay vigilant to ensure a safe and secure holiday season.

“We are prepared to face the challenges posed by increased activities and gatherings during this festive period,” Wanky added./PN
