PRO-6 seeks to reduce admin cases vs cops

ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is eyeing to lower the number of administrative cases filed against its men through intensified internal cleansing.

Brigadier General Bernard Banac, the Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson, met with life coach coordinators in PRO-6 on Wednesday to reiterate the internal cleansing program of General Archie Gamboa, PNP chief.

Life coach coordinators from various faith-based communities are seen to help straighten rogue cops.

For the whole 2019, Banac said, over 200 administrative cases were filed against PRO-6 personnel.

“For 2020, our goal is to reduce the number through the preventive components of the program which are values formation and character development,” he said.

The “squad concept” will be employed – one squad leader and a representative from the religious community will guide more or less six to eight PNP members.

“We want to inculcate to our personnel the PNP core values of makaDiyos (pro-God), makabayan (pro-nation), makatao (pro-people), and makakalikasan (environment-friendly), and we really need the help of the faith-based community,” Banac said.

The intensified campaign on internal cleansing will not only benefit the PNP organization but the community as well, he stressed.

“This is not only for our career but also for our family and the people that we serve. We want to be true to our duty to serve God, our country, our people,” he said. (PNA)
