PRO-6’s weeklong operations yield P11.7-M illegal drugs

ILOILO City – Approximately P11.76 million worth of illegal substances were confiscated in Western Visayas following a series of antidrug operations from February 10 to 16.

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) reported that a total of 1,729 grams of shabu and 57 grams of marijuana were seized in 87 coordinated operations regionwide.

The weeklong campaign also resulted to the arrest of 111 suspects, 19 of whom were identified as high-value targets and 92 street-level offenders.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office recorded the biggest drug haul, seizing drugs valued at P4.7 million from 18 suspects.

It was followed by the Iloilo City Police Office with P2.8 million worth of drugs recovered and 20 arrests, while the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) confiscated P1.9 million worth of illegal drugs from 46 suspects.

Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, commended the dedication of the drug enforcement units and their commanders for their steadfast efforts in the region’s ongoing battle against illegal drugs.

“Maintain the momentum and intensify our campaign further. Alongside our aggressive operations, we must also strengthen collaboration with stakeholders to sustain our fight,” Wanky said.
