Probe, stop get-rich-quick schemes, PRO-6 urged

ROXAS City – Gov. Esteban Evan Contreras of Capiz urged the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) to investigate and put a stop to investment scams in the province.

“Our constituents must be protected from these illegal transactions and from other anomalous schemes,” Contreras wrote in a letter to Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, Western Visayas police director.

The governor’s office had received various reports about investment schemes that promised bigger monetary returns to investors.

Recently, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) said they were monitoring groups engaged in “double-your-money” investment schemes.

Atty. Arnold Diaz of NBI-6 named four such groups / schemes – Chiyuto Creative Wealth Documentation Facilitation Services; 25-Day Double Your Money Investment Scheme; the group of a certain Franz Keith Villanueva; and RGS World Marketing Corp. based in Bacolod City.

Their investors haven’t allegedly received payouts since December, said Diaz./PN
