BACOLOD City – The Bureau of Fire Protection was looking into a possible electrical short circuit in the fire that struck the Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School in Silay City, Negros Occidental on Sunday.
Investigators estimated the cost of damage at P500,000.
They have yet to pinpoint the real cause but they were looking into the possibility that an electrical appliance was left plugged, said Fire Officer 1 Melvin Juson, arson investigator.
Most of the electrical lines in the school were old, Juson noted.
In addition arson investigators were inspecting all electrical lines in the school to check where the fire originated. They have ruled out the possibility that the fire was started deliberately./PN
