The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region VI and the Office of Product and Market Development (OPMD) will conduct a Product Audit for the tourism attaches and market representatives on October 25-28, 2018 in Iloilo, Guimaras and Capiz.
Tourism attaches and market representatives are assigned to destinations that match the travel demands and preference of their markets based on the 2016 Product-Market Matching Workshop result. Assigned to visit Iloilo, Guimaras and Capiz tourist destinations are tourism attaches from Beijing, Taipei, Korea and Osaka and one marketing officer from Indonesia.
“The Department of Tourism Region VI is happy to welcome the tourism attaches and market representatives for they will see how Western Visayas develop into one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in the country. This is also a great opportunity to market the tourist destinations. Familiarization with local products of Western Visayas for international tourists through these overseas officers is one way of strengthening the region’s position in the Asian tourist market”, DOT VI Regional Director Helen Catalbas said.
There will be a dialogue between the tourism attaches and the stakeholders of the tourist destinations they will be visiting. This is to provide deeper and direct marketing opportunities between the foreign offices and the local DOT-accredited tourism-related establishments, tour operators and agencies in Western Visayas.
Aside from Iloilo, Guimaras and Capiz, Product Audit will be conducted also in Albay and Sorsogon, El Nido, Palawan, Bohol and Siquijor and Siargao, Surigao del Norte. (MDO)
