ILOILO – The provincial government has started releasing the 14th month pay and cash gift of capitol employees.
The yearend bonus is equivalent to one month salary while the cash gift is P5,000, according to Provincial Administrator Raul Banias.
Over 2,000 regular and casual (plantilla) employees and 15 elected provincial government officials could withdraw these anytime from their capitol ATM (automated teller machine) accounts, said Banias.
The release is in line with Budget Circular No. 2016-4 stating that these “incentives be given not earlier than Nov. 15.”
The incentives cover “those in government service as of Oct. 31 of the current year and with at least four months of service from Jan. 1 to Oct. 31.”
“Those who have retired or separated from government service before Oct. 31 of the same year and have rendered at least a total of an aggregate of four months of service from Jan. 1” shall also be granted a pro-rated yearend bonus and cash gift within the month of retirement or separation, added Budget Circular No. 2016-4.
According to Banias, Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. advised capitol employees to use their 14th month pay and cash gift wisely.
“I-save nila ang kwarta kag indi nila pag igasto sa wala pulos. Christmas is still far away,” said Banias./PN
