PSEi retreats on refreshed COVID fears

SHARES on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) retreated on Monday, dragged by refreshed fears regarding the coronavirus pandemic as more cases continue to be reported.

The local stock barometer lost 24.81 points or 0.40 percent to 6,172.57 at the closing bell. The broader All Shares index dropped 18.85 points or 0.52 percent to 3,633.75.

According to Regina Capital Development Corp. head of sales Luis Limlingan, Monday’s retreat came after the continued rise in COVID-19 cases as reported by the Department of Health (DOH).

“Local shares closed lower on refreshed pandemic fears, and with investors looking ahead to the US earnings season,” he said in a mobile message.(GMA News)
