ILOILO City – Mayor Jerry Treñas clarified that the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) will continue its operations alongside the newly-created Iloilo City Traffic Management Unit (ICTMU).
As to PSTMO head Jeck Conlu, Treñas said the former has plans.
“As I’ve said si Jeck ya may mga plano man sa kabuhi ya and I’m not free to disclose it,” the city mayor added.
Treñas said the city government is just preparing in handling traffic management in the city.
“Gusto ko ya mapreparar lang kita ya sa traffic kay ti kon matabu ang iya [Conlu] nga plano, ti kundi waay ta di bilin,” he said.
Last week, Treñas issued Executive Order No. 152, Series of 2023, creating the ICTMU for the efficient and effective implementation of all traffic-related laws, ordinances and management in the city.
The ICTMU is headed by City Administrator Melchor Tan as the chairperson while the vice chairperson is retired Police Col. Uldarico Garbanzos, the former director of the Iloilo City Police Office.
“Gasugod na si Col. Garbanzos since last week. Si Jeck ya ara man gyapon sa public safety,” said Treñas./PN
