ILOILO – Four fishermen were rescued in the waters between Victorias City, Negros Occidental and Barangay Culasi, Ajuy, Iloilo. Their pumpboat capsized.
Barangay Culasi kagawad Roy Q. Garcia identified the four as Edgar Balintongog (owner of the pumpboat), Ian Estopado, Von Chris Dahay, and Joefe Flores.
According to Garcia, members of the Philippine Coast Guard also helped in the rescue operation, but they did not find the boat because they were not familiar with the area.
At around 8 p.m. of Sept.r 22, the responders called Garcia that there was a capsized pumpboat.
People aboard were immediately rescued with the help of their fellow fishermen.
The kagawad also said it was possible that the boat was caught by heavy rains./PN
