ILOILO City – As of Wednesday, March 2, 60 schools in Region 6 resumed face-to-face classes.
Fifteen of these were the pilot schools identified as early as last year for limited face-to-face classes. The 45 others were in the expanded list of the Department of Education (DepEd) Region 6 for schools eligible for face-to-face classes, too.
According to Hernani Escullar Jr., regional information officer of DepEd-6, 35 more schools in the expanded list are preparing for face-to-face classes.
The 15 pilot schools were the following:
* Malinao School for Philippine Craftsmen in Aklan
* Laserna Integrated School in Aklan
* Mayabay Elementary School in Antique
* Igsoro Integrated School in Antique
* Antique National High School in Antique
* Alangilan National High School in Bacolod City
* Olotayan Integrated School in Roxas City
* Hiyang Hiyang Elementary School in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental
* Valladolid National High School in Negros Occidental
* Aguntilang Elementary School in Negros Occidental
* Patag Diotay Elementary School in Silay City, Negros Occidental
* Mauboy Elementary School in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental
* Victorias National High School in Victorias City, Negros Occidental
* Gamot Cogon Waldorf School in Zarraga, Iloilo
* Oxmont Memorial School in Calinog, Iloilo
As required by DepEd-6, schools resuming face-to-face classes must have foot baths, hand-washing areas, must ensure safe distance between learners, must make available sanitizers, use contact-less thermometer for body temperature checks, and triage areas.
