INDEED folks, “I Am Iloilo City” have been officially declared insurgency-free, meaning the city has been purged of this nonsense CPP/NPA/NDF that has been plaguing the country for more than 50 years.
“.” That was the reaction of the Philippine government after the death of CPP/NPA/NDF founder and demi-god Jose Maria Sison was confirmed.
Along that line, with “I Am Iloilo City” officially declared insurgency-free, then perhaps we can safely say that one of the stumbling blocks for its progress has been purged.
The Iloilo City Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center (JPSCC), through a resolution, officially recommended the declaration of this southern city as “insurgency-free.”
The resolution is an offshoot of the recent meeting of the JPSCC at the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO). It was agreed that there were no more recorded New People’s Army (NPA)-initiated violent Incidents (NIVIS), no more non-violent urban activities monitored as perpetrated by the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP)-NPA, and no more existing CPP-NPA formation within the city since 2018.
The JPSCC is composed of the ICPO, Philippine Army’s 301st Infantry Brigade (301st IB), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Iloilo.
Based on the report by the Iloilo City Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center (JPSCC), Iloilo City remains free from the threat of the CPP-NPA. (Panay News 6/16/2023)
Take note that this is part of a continuous anti-insurgency efforts, as the Iloilo City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) and Iloilo City Development Council (ICDC), in a joint meeting on Dec. 5, 2019, passed three anti-insurgency resolutions.
These included Resolution No. 01-2019 or “A Joint Resolution Creating the City Task Force (CTF) on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC)”; Resolution No. 02-2019 or “A Resolution Strongly Denouncing the Atrocities and Acts of Violence Being Perpetrated by Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGS) in the Different Areas in the Country and not to Allow their Presence by Declaring the CPP-NPA as Persona Non Grata in the City of Iloilo”; and Resolution No. 03 CY 2019 or “Resolution Recommending to the Sangguniang Panlungsod the Passage of a Resolution adopting Resolution No. 02-2019.”
And this is what “I Am Iloilo City” Mayor Jerry Treñas has to say: “It means we can focus on the development of the city so that we can provide more employment and improve the quality of life of our people.”
Well said, Mayor Jerry. With the nonsense and stupidity of these pseudo-communists and their obsolete ideology and irrelevant slogans purged from the “I Am Iloilo City”, we are moving forward to peace and progress.
Of course, we are not totally rid of stupidity. Every now and then we have these “useful idiots” with their obsolete placards and slogans making a nuisance of themselves at the Provincial Capitol disrupting traffic.
But then again that’s democracy. We all have the right to make fools of ourselves or not as long as we don’t force it on other people.
Meanwhile we segue to another issue but very much related, and we’re talking about the Fausto family massacre in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Initial investigation revealed that the father, Rolly Fausto, was a military informant and involved in facilitating the surrender of New People’s Army (NPA) rebels.
It’s quite obvious as to who would benefit or has the motivation to eliminate Rolly Fausto and his family from the equation – certainly not the authorities as he is an asset in the campaign to stop the insurgency, bearing in mind that his continued existence as a military informant is hurting and helping in bringing down the insurgency problem in Negros./PN
