KALIBO, Aklan – A drug suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Numancia, Aklan.
He was 27-year-old Jervin de Juan of Barangay Bugasongan,Lezo, Aklan, a police report showed.
De Juan was nabbed after he allegedly sold two sachets of illegal drugs to an undercover officer for P3,000 around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
When frisked, the suspect yielded a .22-caliber gun with five live bullets, a cellphone and P63 cash, the report added.
According to police investigation, De Juan sustained a gunshot wound on the leg after resisting to the police authorities.
“Binaril ako ng pulis pagtakbo ko. Hindi naman sa akin ang baril. Hinihintay ko kanina si nanay sa tindahan para humingi ng pera,”he said.
De Juan was brought to the Aklan Provincial Hospital in Kalibo for medical treatment.
He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With a report from Akean Forum/PN)
