ILOILO City – A drug pushing suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation of the police in Barangay Jelicuon Montinola, Cabatuan, Iloilo yesterday.

The 59-year-old Dionisio Jordan sold a sachet of shabu for P500 to an undercover police officer at around 1:20 p.m.

He was detained at the municipal police station of Cabatuan.

Nineteen more sachets valued at P10,000 were found in Jordan’s possession, said Chief Inspector Sollen Domingo, Cabatuan police chief.

Intelligence reports also previously linked Jordan to a defunct robbery and cattle rustling group led by the late Joel Prion of Barangay Jelicuon Montinola, said Domingo.

The notorious Prion group was tagged in a string of robbery and cattle rustling incidents in the province. Members disbanded after Prion was killed by pursuing policemen in 2004.

Domingo said Jordan was “new” in the Cabatuan police station’s list of suspected drug personalities.

“His operation covered the neighboring villages of Jelicuon Montinola and towns near Cabatuan,” said Domingo.

Jordan faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
