ILOILO City – A suspected drug pusher tried to evaded arrest at a police checkpoint. How?
Rex Lurde, 31, of Brgy. Poblacion, Jamindan, Capiz tried to swallow what policemen said was a sachet of shabu.
The incident happened Tuesday night in Brgy. West Habog-Habog, Molo district.
Lurde will be facing a string of criminal charges – disobedience to lawful orders, possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia – according to Senior Insp. Rio Maymay, Molo police chief.
Lurde was with his friend Glend Caga, 35, of Brgy. Calumpang, Molo district when arrested around 11:45 p.m.
They refused to stop their motorcycle, thus policemen chased them.
Caga was seen throwing some drug paraphernalia used in sniffing shabu while Lurde put something in his mouth.
The items were all recovered by policemen./PN
