MANILA – Creamline Cool Smashers sustained its unbeaten run in the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference after a 25-15, 25-16, 25-18 sweep over Philippine Air Force Lady Jet Spikers at the San Juan Arena.

Jessica Galanza ignited with 21 points on 18 attacks and three service aces while Gumabao finished with 15 markers from 13 hits and a pair of aces on Sunday.

The Cool Smashers improved to 11-0.

Alyssa Valdez also made her return from injury but finished scoreless in limited action as Kyle Negrito carried the setting cudgels for injured Julia Morado with 24 excellent sets.

“It all boiled down to preparation. Hindi naman kasi kami ‘yung type na tumitingin sa standings so each and every game kung sino man ‘yung katapat namin, same galaw, same preparation and same effort from our end,” said Gumabao.

Jozza Mae Cabalsa spearheaded the 4-6 Air Force in scoring with 10, while Aklanon Dell Palomata was limited to just nine markers and setter Wendy Semana just tossed 12 excellent sets.

Meanwhile, Kat Tolentino took the bulk of the offense once again, towing the Choco Mucho Flying Titans over the PacificTown – Army Lady Troopers, 25-20, 17-25, 21-25, 25-11, 15-8.

The former Ateneo Lady Eagle waxed hot with 24 points built on 22 attacks. She nailed the lethal blow in the decisive fifth set that completed Flying Titans’ comeback from a one-set deficit to improve to 5-6 card./PN
