MANILA – The supposed findings of the House of Representatives’ Quad Committee (QuadComm) are designed to destroy former President Rodrigo Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio.
According to former chief presidential legal counsel and former Palace spokesperson Salvador Panelo, the finding from said House Quadcom investigation into the Duterte administration’s war on drugs will not stand in court.
“The allegations made [against] these people are either coerced testimonies or based on hearsay, or both,” Panelo said in a statement over the weekend. “They will never stand in court.”
“The QuadComm’s hearings were all political, and they were designed to destroy [former President Rodrigo] Duterte and his daughter [Vice President] Sara, so that the latter can be eliminated in the 2028 presidential race,” he added.
Panelo remark came after QuadComm vice chairperson and Antipolo Representative Romeo Acop claimed that the former president is at the center of the criminal syndicate involving the illegal drug trade and other crimes.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the Quad Committee has started to uncover a grand criminal enterprise, and it would seem that at the center of it is the former president,” Acop said on late Thursday night.
“Napakasakit po nito dahil tayo pong lahat ay nabudol. Nilunod po nila ang bayan natin ng droga at kumita sila dahil rito. Nasaan ngayon si Colonel Acierto? Nagtatago dahil gusto siyang patayin ng ating former president,” he added./PN
