MANILA – A co-accused of Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has been arrested in Davao City, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) said.
According to Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr., Paulene Canada was arrested in a subdivision in Davao City on Thursday afternoon following a tip from an anonymous caller on July 9.
“Bago mahuli itong si Canada, may isang hindi nagpakilalang caller ang tumawag sa hotline ng Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division ng office sa Region 11 para i-report sa police na nakita niya ang isang babae na kamukha ng nasa litrato ng wanted poster na nilabas ng PNP na may reward na P1 million,” Abalos said in a press conference on Friday.
Canada, who has pending warrant of arrest along with Quiboloy and three others, has a bounty of P1 million on her head and is the No. 6 most wanted in the Davao region.
“Maski papaano ay nakatulong ang reward dito,” said Abalos, who announced the bounty on Quiboloy and others in a presser on Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) are considering putting up its share to add to the reward for anyone who could provide information on the whereabouts of the Quiboloy.
Quiboloy, who is facing charges that include child prostitution, sexual abuse, human trafficking and acts of neglect, abuse, cruelty or exploitation, has a bounty of P10 million for his arrest.
“Pinag-iisipan po ‘yan ng PNP na maglabas din ng reward with respect to this case. Pero kailangan kasi dumaan sa proseso ‘yan in terms of auditing, in terms of budgetary rules and guidelines,” said PNP spokesperson P/Colonel Jean Fajardo.
Fajardo also said they verifying reports that Quiboloy could be in China, but there are indications the controversial pastor is still in the Philippines.
“Meron din po siyang resources, meron din siyang mga supporters kaya nga patuloy yung ating pag-apela kay Pastor Quiboloy at sa kapwa niya akusado na sana let us spare particularly ‘yung ating mga supporters, ang ating mga mahal sa buhay,” said Fajardo./PN
