Raid yields cache of guns, ammos

BACOLOD City – Several firearms and ammunition were recovered during a raid of a house in Barangay 5, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

The 63-year-old resident Felix Ayco was arrested, said Chief Inspector Eduardo Corpuz, Victorias police head.

Ayco identified himself to the arresting officers as an asset of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.

Upon his arrest, he presented to the operatives some warrants of arrest in his possession and an identification card, police said.

Seized during the raid of his house on Thursday evening were the following:

* improvised homemade shotgun

* .22 Magnum revolver

* .22 pistol with barrel

* .357 pistol

* improvised air gun

* 42 live bullets for a .22 pistol

* 20 live bullets for a .30 pistol

* two live bullets for a 12-gauge shotgun

* magazine for an M16

Ayco was detained at the Victorias City police station. He faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Judge Dyna Doll Chiongson-Trocio of the Regional Trial Court Branch 40 (Silay City) issued the search warrant the police used./PN
