MANILA – Rain or Shine Elasto Painters star James Yap was forced to sit out the remainder of the 2019 PBA Commissioner’s Cup game against the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters due to groin injury.
The Escalante City, Negros Occidental native said he asked Painters head coach Carlos Garcia to be subbed out despite having a good shooting night with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting.
The two-time PBA MVP was delighted that the Painters was able to pull off an 89-82 win over the Fuel Masters with Denzel Bowles and Rey Nambatac delivering clutch baskets.
“Buti nanalo. “Checkup ko Tuesday so pahinga muna ako tomorrow. Sana rest lang ‘to.”/PN
