ILOILO City – The Ilonggos stand united in ensuring the progress of the City of Iloilo under the Treñas brand of leadership.
Raisa Treñas leads in the mayoral race against her perceived adversary, former Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, based on the latest survey conducted by Random Access Consultants Inc. (RACI) on October 1 to 2, 2024.
Raisa is the official candidate for Iloilo City mayor of Team Uswag.
The survey results showed Raisa leading by 12.3 percentage points over the former mayor. Among the 600 survey respondents, 55 percent chose Raisa, while 42.7 percent favored Mabilog.
Raisa is the eldest daughter of incumbent Mayor Jerry Treñas. She grew up witnessing her father’s dedication to public service over the past 40 years, and this inspired and influenced her own commitment to serve the community.
Behind Mayor Treñas’ successes, Raisa has been working diligently behind the scenes, offering support to her father. Currently serving as his Executive Assistant, Raisa is entrusted with overseeing crucial projects and programs.
With a background in public service, the young Treñas is committed to standing up for the progress of the City of Iloilo and the Ilonggo family.
“I would also like to express my gratitude for the overwhelming support shown by every Ilonggo. This reflects the trust that the people of Iloilo have in our capability and potential to lead a highly urbanized city,” she said in a statement.
Raisa, who is set to file her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) together with Team Uswag today, expressed that she is deeply honored and humbled to have been chosen as the official candidate of Team Uswag for city mayor.
“I may have big shoes to fill, but I believe in our collective effort. With your trust and support, we can continue the work we’ve started, ensuring that Iloilo City remains a safe, peaceful, and progressive home for all of us. We are one Iloilo family, and together, we can continue to make Iloilo a city we are all proud of,” she added.
Meanwhile, as he endorsed his daughter for the mayoral post, Mayor Treñas said he firmly believes in his daughter’s capacity to lead.
The city mayor is confident that with her dedication and passion for public service, Raisa will rise to take Iloilo City to the next level.
“Sa iya pagsulod sa pag-pangalagad, makit-an ko gid ang akon kaugalingon sa pamaagi kon paano ko gin-umpisahan palanggaon ang pagserbisyo sang tampad kag pagtib-ong sa padayon nga kauswagan sang aton syudad.
