BACOLOD City – A man charged with rape and wanted for 22 years was finally arrested.
Police tracked down his location at the NHA Village in the city’s Barangay Pahanocoy on Thursday night, Nov. 10.
The 43-year-old Richard Dela Cruz was a resident of Purok Seaside, Barangay Tangub in this city. He was arrested by joint operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO)’s Police Station 8, Barotac Viejo Municipal Police Station, and the Bacolod City Mobile Force Company.
Dela Cruz had a pending warrant of arrest for the crime of rape signed and issued by Judge Rogelio Amador, presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court – Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, dated Sept. 1, 2022.
He was ranked No. 10 on the most wanted person list at the provincial level.
Dela Cruz is set to be sent back to Barotac Viejo to face trial.
The court recommended no bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
