ILOILO City — After 18 years of hiding, the No. 4 most wanted person in Aklan fell into the hands of the police.
Aklan Police Provincial Office and Malay police station personnel arrested Jose Perucho at about 6:30 a.m. on July 18 in Poblacion village in Makato town.
Perucho, 38, of Dumlog village in Malay was accused of raping his neighbor Josephine (not her real name) sometime in 1996.
Senior Supt. Samuel Nacion, provincial police director, said Perucho was said to have sexually molested Josephine when he was only 20 years old.
“After learning that the victim filed a rape case against him, he escaped and hid in Makato,” Nacion said.
Nacion said they were able to locate Perucho through information from a relative of the victim.
Perucho was detained in the Malay police station./PN
