BACOLOD City – After eight years of hiding, a wanted man in Taguig City was finally arrested.
Nelson Ongalon Jr., 32, had been living in Purok Bandihan 6, Barangay Salong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
According to the police, Ongalon was securing a police clearance around 2:50 p.m. on May 3 when authorities found he had a pending arrest warrant for rape.
Kabankalan police immediately coordinated with the Taguig City police’s warrant section for verification.
It was then confirmed that the suspect was charged with rape and the arrest warrant was issued by Judge Leili Cruz Suarez of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 163 in Taguig City on Feb. 4, 2013 yet.
The suspect was detained at the Kabankalan City police station.
A P120,000 bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty./PN
