BALETE, Aklan – After 17 years of hiding, this town’s No. 3 most wanted person was finally arrested.
Rape suspect Rufino Quindong Jr. alias “Raffy Concepcion” was caught on 147 Visayas Avenue, Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City at around 9 a.m. yesterday.
Working as a buko vendor, Quindong – a native of Sitio Mapait, Barangay Aranas, Balete – was residing in Villa Corrina, Area A, Pasong Tamo, Barangay Tandang Sora, Quezon City.
Quindong was served with an arrest warrant for two counts of rape (Criminal Case No.s 7160 and 7162) issued by Judge Sheila Martekino-Cortes of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 3 (Kalibo, Aklan) on June 28, 2004 yet.
The rape complaint was filed in 2004 by a 15-year-old girl.
The court recommended no bail for Quindong’s temporary liberty. He was detained at Police Station 14, Police Community Precinct 1, Quezon City Police District, for documentation prior to being returned to Balete.
The arrest warrant was served by combined elements of the Balete police station, TSD-Intelligence Group, Regional Intelligence Unit 6 – Aklan Provincial Intelligence Team; Police Station 14, Police Community Precinct 1, Quezon City Police District; Regional Highway Patrol Unit, 4A Special Operating Team; Regional Intelligence Unit – National Capital Region and District Intelligence Division-Quezon City Police District./PN
