RDCs to present priority projects to Marcos

BACOLOD City – The Regional Development Councils (RDCs) are scheduled to meet with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on April 30 in Malacañang to present their respective priority projects.

This was disclosed by Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez in an interview at the Bacolod City Government Center yesterday.

“The President set a meeting for all the councils in order for us to present our priority projects in our area of jurisdiction,” the city mayar said.

As the chairman of RDC in Western Visayas, Benitez said among the proposed projects in the region he would be presenting to the President are the pumping stations and floodgates to prevent flooding.

As for the floodgates, the RDC-6 chairman said its program of works has been completed by the  Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The floodgates, he added, are proposed to be installed in five major rivers of this city to prevent flooding during high tide or heavy rains.

These rivers are Magsungay, Lupit, Sum-ag, Mandalagan, and Banago./PN
