CAPIZ – A suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebel charged with murder and rebellion was arrested on Monday, Sept. 26, in Barangay Santa Carmen, Dumalag town.
Michelle Penequito alias “Inday”, 33, was a resident of Dumalag.
Judge Daniel Antonio Gerardo Amular of the Regional Trial Court – Branch 21 in Mambusao, Capiz recommended a P40,000 bail bond for the charge of rebellion. However, for the accused’s murder case, bail was denied.
Police said Penequito belonged to the NPA’s Igabon Platoon under Komiteng Rehiyon Panay (KR-P).
She was charged for the ambush of government troops on Aug. 28, 2011 in Barangay Switch, Tapaz, Capiz.
Penequito was detained at the Mambusao police station./PN
