Red hot Murray drops 50, Denver forces do-or-die Game 7

Jamal Murray had another offensive display as the Denver Nuggets stayed alive with a 119-107 Game 6 victory over Utah Jazz in the first round of 2019-2020 NBA Western Conference playoffs on Sunday night (Monday in the Philippines) at Lake Buena Vista in Orlando, Florida.

Murray has been scorching hot all-game long, including back-to-back three-point conversions down the stretch that sealed the win for the Nuggets and stretched their series with Jazz to a Game 7 on Tuesday (Wednesday in the Philippines).

Murray finished the match with 50 points, including 9-of-12 shooting from the three-point line, Nikola Jokić added 22 points and nine assists, while Jerami Grant and Monte Morris had 18 and 10 markers, respectively, for Denver.

Los Angeles Clippers, meanwhile, advanced to the next round of the playoffs with a 111-97 Game 6 victory over the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks and wrapped up its best-of-seven first round series at 4-2.

Kawhi Leonard tallied 33 points and 14 rebounds, Paul George and Ivica Zubac had 15 each for the Clippers, which will face the winner of the Nuggets-Jazz series in the Western Conference semifinals.

Boston Celtics, on the other hand, made a short work of defending champions Toronto Raptors, 112-94, to kick off their Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Celtics dominated the Raptors since the start as they established a 59-42 halftime edge on a buzzer beater by Kemba Walker. The lead stayed at double-digit for Boston the rest of the way.

Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart ignited the offense for the Celtics with 21 points each, while Walker chipped in double-double 18 points and 10 assists./PN
