“It is an important step to bringing more higher-value types of jobs, where one can practice their profession and jobs that turn into long-term, fulfilling careers. We know that a satisfying career is what matters to our Iloilo employees. And we are a company that values what matters” – Roel Mapoy

Reed Elsevier Philippines (REPH) Iloilo began in 2014 with a small space serving as its recruitment hub and temporary office in Amigo Terrace Hotel. On the 12th of January 2015, REPH Iloilo became operational on the 3rd floor of Richmonde Tower, Iloilo Business Park. The office expansion continued, and on the 26th of April 2021, the ground floor recruitment hub, 4th-floor expansion project, and the 3rd-floor renovations were completed.

The organization’s latest expansion reinforces its commitment to continue to grow its operations in Iloilo City amidst the pandemic, therefore providing more employment opportunities. The new workspace also promotes the welfare of the employees by de-densifying the offices with open floor plans and with added space for workstations to observe appropriate social distance and allow flexible work arrangements.

Reed Elsevier Philippines celebrated its site inauguration as a hybrid event which is a blend of in-person and virtual attendees in consideration of the health and safety of its workforce. The onsite volunteers, together with the two priests, who conducted the blessing rites, were appropriately socially distanced and strictly observed health and safety protocols in the office while the rest of the organization’s population joined virtually.

“Home is where the heart is, and our office is one place that we are proud to call our home.” Mark Lwin, managing director of Reed Elsevier Philippines (left panel), virtually expresses his congratulations for another milestone.

Reed Elsevier Philippines Iloilo’s growth in capability and scale these past six years parallels the transformation of its businesses; the organization has evolved on a similar path in creating greater value by embracing technology and pushing forward from the status quo. One of the main elements of this transformation is accelerating how Reed Elsevier harnesses continuous improvement, automation, and digital transformation and builds these into the organization’s value proposition.

Accelerating digital transformation within the organization signifies further investing in the career development of employees through the core and foundational competencies building with new and cutting-edge skills for the future, enabling employees to drive their careers across the sophisticated business segments in RELX – the parent company of Reed Elsevier Philippines.

This exceptional development as the roadmap progresses is a guarantee that Reed Elsevier Philippines is accelerating its way in transforming and growing the organization’s value and contribution, as well as enabling its employees to be future-ready with sought-after skills, thus protecting everyone’s career stability and securing economic livelihood./PN
