ILOILO – Some 20,000 doses of the reformulated Pfizer vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for children are arriving here from the Department of Health (DOH) central office tomorrow, Feb. 11.
The vaccination of children here from five to 11 years old begins on Feb. 14.
“This is an initial delivery of DOH to our province,” said Provincial Health Office (PHO) head Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares- Quiñon.
The 20,000 doses would be fairy allocated to 42 towns and the component city of Passi.
On Feb. 14, there will be a launching of the pediatric vaccination at the West Visayas State University- Cultural Center in La Paz district at 8 a.m.
“To our beloved parents, bring your kids to the nearest vaccination site in your area on Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day. Show our love to our children by giving them the most needed protection,” added Quiñon.
In Iloilo province, 267,470 kids from five to 11 years old are the eligible for vaccination. Here’s breakdown:

The child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, both with proof of relationships such as valid identification card of child and of parent or guardian, with picture.
For kids with comorbidities, a medical certificate as clearance from his or her doctor for the vaccination must be presented.
Parents or guardians are also advised to bring writing materials like ballpen and use well-fitted face mask and face shield (required in medical settings), alcohol, fan, and water as necessary./PN
