Regine Velasquez’s ‘Freedom’ concert set on Feb. 28

REGINE Velasquez’s digital concert “Freedom” has been rescheduled to Feb. 28.

“Regine tested negative for coronavirus disease 2019 and will soon resume preparations for the show,”  ABS-CBN Events and IME’s joint statement said.

Originally scheduled to be held on Feb. 14, the digital concert was postponed after Velasquez was exposed to someone who tested positive for the coronavirus.

During a recent virtual conference for the show, Velasquez said her long-time fans can expect a fresh repertoire that reflects her journey when they watch “Freedom.”

“It is really more personal for me,” she said of the show’s title. “I wanted to be free of all these things — anxiety, fear, expectations of people. I wanted to be free of that.”

Velasquez, known as Asia’s Songbird, said she wanted to be “free” to explore genres her listeners are not accustomed to hearing from her.

According to the singer, the digital show will run for about two hours with some 20 numbers.(ABS-CBN News)
