ILOILO – Regular employees of the Iloilo provincial government will each receive P20,000 in service recognition incentive (SRI).

Also receiving the same are the regular employees of 12 district hospitals and the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan town.

On the other hand, capitol job hire (JO) and contract of service (CoS) workers will receive a gratuity pay of P5,000 each.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) headed by Vice Gov. Christine Garin approved two appropriation ordinances funding both the SRI and the gratuity pay during a special session on Tuesday, Dec. 27.

A budget of P43,680,000 was allocated for the regular employees’ SRI and P5,760,400 for rice allowance, for a total appropriation of P49,448,400.

Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) head Mario Nillos said there are over 1,400 regular capitol employees, around 700 regular employees from district hospitals, and over 1,000 JOs and CoS workers.

“Probably before the end of December mabaton na sang employees ang ila SRI,” said Nillos.

He added that the local finance committee, together with the Association of Iloilo Provincial Government Employees, is already processing the employees’ payrolls.

For JOs and CoS, each office or department is also processing their gratuity pay.

Gratuity pay for JO and CoS workers is stated in Administrative Order No. 03 of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Meanwhile, all capitol employees will each get P1,200 worth of rice allowance, which is not convertible to cash.

As explained by the PPDO head, this will still undergo a bidding process at the National Food Authority (NFA) and may take time.

Gin-grant ang rice allowance because nga other than helping employees, we could also help the farmers kay ti siempre baklon ini sang gobyerno sa NFA kag ipanagtag ina sa mga employees,” Nillos said./PN
