ILOILO City – Four of the five chiefs of police under the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) relieved from their posts on Monday were ordered to return to their posts.
The four were Bingawan town’s Senior Inspector Ramil Jacaba, Leon’s Chief Inspector Cyril Octavio, Mina’s Senior Inspector Ma. Theresa Lero, and San Rafael’s Senior Inspector Kenn Albert Lepsia.
Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, IPPO director, appealed to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) on behalf of the four officers. He said they were performing well in the campaign against illegal drugs such that their areas were declared clear of illegal drugs.
“We granted the request. Nakita natin na ang droga sa areas nila ay hindi problema, so nakatutok na sila sa insurgency problem. Kahit wala silang accomplishments in the illegal drug drove last month, we considered their reasons,” said Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, regional police director.
Twenty-three police chiefs across Region 6 were axed from their posts effective on June 23 for having no accomplishments in the campaign against illegal drugs from June 1 to 30.
The Regional Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board reviewed the performance of these police chiefs, according to Bulalacao.
“Sinabihan ko na sila when I assumed office na I will assess their operational performance para malaman ko kung sino ang tamad na police chiefs,” said Bulalacao./PN
