BACOLOD City – Flower vendors at the public plaza must be relocated, according to the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP).
This will pave the way for the full implementation of the beautification project at the plaza, said Councilor Em Ang.
The SP approved last week a resolution authored by Ang urging Mayor Evelio Leonardia to order – through the City Legal Office – the vendors’ relocation.
Ang said the flower sellers must be transferred to a designated site behind the Bacolod BAYS Center.
Once the vendors are transferred there the City Engineer’s Office can do its job – to fully rehabilitate the public plaza – Ang said.
She cited Section 477 of the Local Government Code of 1991, which states that “the engineer shall take charge of the engineering office and shall initiate, review and recommend changes in policies and objectives, plans and programs, techniques, procedures, and practices in infrastructure development and public works in general of the local government unit concerned.”/PN
