ILOILO City – A 40-year-old resident of Barangay Villa Anita claimed to have received threats through text messages from a New People’s Army (NPA) member.

Palmsunda Cordero told the police on Thursday the threats came after a call around 10:57 a.m. on Monday.

According to Cordero, his wife received the call from someone who introduced himself as “Ka Roger” of the NPA.

Cordero said the caller told his wife that members of the rebel group in Aklan were wounded and needed help.

Threats in the form of text messages came afterwards./PN
