ILOILO – A 72-year-old retired Philippine Army officer died after his motorcycle collided with a truck loaded with sugarcane in Barangay Libot, Calinog, Iloilo.
Calinog police said alias “Remegio,” a resident of the said place, succumbed to severe head injuries.
According to Police Master Sergeant Rodney Mirasol of the Calinog Municipal Police Station, the victim’s motorcycle first rammed a signboard at the drainage project site and consequently collided with an oncoming truck driven by alias “Ferdinand,” 59, from Barangay Poblacion, Tapaz, Capiz.
Mirasol said the truck driver is now under the custody of the Calinog police station as further investigations continue./PN
