BACOLOD City – Two retired policemen got into a physical altercation that ended in a gun discharge in Menlo Village, Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City, Negros Occidental at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
Abraham Perez, 56, a resident of Charmine Village Subdivision, Sagay City, sustained a gunshot wound to his left foot. He got into a heated argument with the suspect, 50-year-old Franklin Balbaguio, a resident of Menlo Village.
Balbaguio surrendered to the Talisay City Police Station shortly after the incident. He alleged to the police that during the argument, Perez pulled out a firearm.
Grappling for the gun ensued.
Balbaguio managed to get a hold of Perez’s gun, but the firearm went off.
Perez is currently confined at the Bacolod Queen of Mercy Hospital and is in stable condition./PN
