ILOILO City – How did a retired Philippine National Police employee die? Investigators have yet to find out.
Luiz Berezo, 67, was found lifeless inside his store in Barangay Cruz, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo on Thursday.
His grandson, Roger Detoyato, found the body at around 3:30 a.m.
Berezo was brought to the Don Jose S. Monfort Medical Center Extension Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Berezo was a retired non-uniformed personnel, or NUP – a civilian employee – of the PNP, a police report stated.
Finding no wound on the body, police suspected that Berezo died of an illness.
Police requested an autopsy to determine the cause of death./PN
