BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) has been urged to review City Ordinance No. 565, or the Revised Revenue Code.
City Legal Officer Romeo Carlos Ting Jr. observed that business establishments closed due to their lack of business permits could easily reopen because of the very small penalty imposed.
He cited a resto-bar in Barangay 7 that opened a week after it was padlocked by the city government in the middle of December 2023.
The establishment paid a P1,000 fine for its non-compliance with the business permit requirement and another P500 penalty for serving liquor to minors, Ting said./PN
